Fairfax County School Board approves a change to the admission process at a prestigious high school, Liz Kennedy reports. Eighth grade students looking to get into the reputable Thomas Jefferson High School in northern Virginia will have a new application process this year. Thursday the Fairfax County Public Schools board approved a "holistic review process" for admission to the school.
One important change - students are required to have a three-point-five G-P-A. The school will take into consideration whether students are low-income, have special needs, or come from a non-English speaking household.
