Virginia State Police are investigating after a man and woman were found dead along a rural highway in Halifax County. The woman's father traveled to the place where his daughter was murdered in hopes of some answers.

Authorities were called out to a single car crash at Route-58 and Melon Road on Saturday around 3 a.m. and discovered two people dead near a Nissan Maxima. An investigation determined the couple did not die in the car crash. Their bodies were taken to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Roanoke to determine an official cause of death.  
 
The long search for a Henrico woman and her four children is over. Investigators say Melody Bannister allegedly took her children on a planned vacation four months ago and never came back home. They were spotted in eight different states leading up to early Wednesday, when Bannister was arrested at an Indiana gas station. Stafford County Court granted the father custody shortly after they disappeared. All of the children are safe.  
 
Officials say a 17-year-old has been found guilty of murdering a man outside of a convenience store in Stafford last summer. Police say, Caine Davis lured 20-year-old Troy Barnett to the 5Twelve convenience store where he shot him and a woman he was with in a drug deal gone wrong. He was found guilty of first-degree murder.
