Lawmakers in Virginia say they passed a bill that would help first responders with post-traumatic stress disorder. The president of the Norfolk Professional Firefighters announced yesterday that it's hurting members of his community. The bill will recognize PTSD as an occupational disease and would make those affected eligible for worker's compensation and treatment. The legislation also proposes training to recognize the signs of PTSD. The bill is now headed to the Governors desk.

Authorities in Stafford County say a woman who was accused of kidnapping her four children has been captured in Indiana. She was arrested yesterday morning after the U.S. Marshals located the woman and her children at a gas station in Plainfield, Indiana. Police say 34-year-old Melody Bannister took the kids after making accusations against her husband and his family. She is charged with multiple misdemeanor counts including parental child abduction and a felony charge of violation of a court order.
