With many worrying about the safety of absentee ballots, one Georgia woman says you SHOULD worry. A Columbus woman says the absentee ballot she requested ended up being sent across state lines. WTVM-TV reports Jamie Bell says the the FBI got in touch with her after it showed up in Opelika, Alabama. FBI agents received the tip about the ballot after someone reported finding it in a bunch of mail that had been thrown out. Bell says she plans to deliver her ballot to a polling place in person to make sure her vote is counted.
As of 8pm Friday night, state officials say over 2.5 million Georgia voters cast their ballot. CBS46 reports advanced voting numbers show 1.6 million ballots were cast in-person, while more than 900-thousand were counted on absentee ballots.Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger says "Georgia is a leader in election access". Traditionally, he says, the last day of early voting sees the biggest turnout.
State education officials want some input on the grading procedures. Georgia Department of Education officials created the online survey to collect feedback. They want to know the opinion of parents, students, educators, and Georgia residents when it comes to final grades. Currently, the end of course test makes up 20% of a student's final grade in that course. WSAV-TV reports school officials propose cutting the weight of the final test grade in half to only 10%. You can take the survey by visiting the Department of Education's website and clicking on the banner called EOC Course Weight Proposals. The survey ends November 16th. A Seattle arcade is proving there's more than one way to play a pinball machine. It created one completely controlled by someone's feet instead of hands. A worker came up with the idea to add foot pedals while they were closed for eight months because of the pandemic. They hope it'll bring back customers concerned about spreading coronavirus
