A man and a woman have been charged with second-degree murder after a child died over the weekend in Norfolk. The nine-day-old infant died at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters on Saturday. Police were called in because the child's injuries were suspicious. The parents were initially arrested and charged with child abuse, but the murder charge was added after the medical examiner ruled the death was a homicide. Both parents are being held without bond at the Norfolk City Jail.

Darryl Johnston recently found the future home of his mentorship program, The Rock Project. It'll be on West Marshall Street. Johnston says that'll allow him to draw kids from Southside, Northside, the East End, Chesterfield and Henrico. Work still needs to be done before it opens, but he and his wife have big dreams for the place. She tells CBS 6, they want the space to be a safe haven for kids to be free from everything that may be going on in their lives.
Boy scouts in Virginia are getting a new moniker. The Boy Scouts of America is changing its name to "Scouting America." The organization said it's officially making the change February 2025 as a sign of its commitment to inclusion.
