Virginia lawmakers want to take a closer look at the protests that have taken place on college campuses around the Commonwealth. General Assembly leaders announced this week that they are forming select committees to discuss ways to balance campus safety with students' First Amendment rights. More than 100 students were arrested during pro-Palestinian protests at four Virginia colleges over the last month. The select committees will examine the protests and the response of college officials and police before making any legislative recommendations.

Wayne Latimer went before the Board of Supervisors yesterday to share his story about what happened while he was playing pickleball last month. He was at the Chesterfield Career and Technical Center when he went into cardiac arrest. Luckily for him, a nurse named Karen Kent was also playing that day. She says Latimer had stopped breathing so she started CPR while other players ran to get the AED. He tells 12 On Your Side everybody should take a CPR class because it could end up saving somebody's life. She told the board it was a really nice group effort, and Latimer says he's here today because of her.
