A former postal carrier in Richmond will serve prison time for stealing mail. Wendy Lawrence was sentenced to one year and one month behind bars. Court documents say she stole mail and removed gift cards, checks, and other items of value for her own use. Lawrence also dumped mail entrusted to her care. Law enforcement recovered stolen mail from Lawrence's home belonging to over 180 victims.
One Virginia University faces disciplinary action.Preview: A new statewide poll shows a tie between the two major party presidential candidates, yet only one candidate's former presidential term is viewed as mostly good. The poll from the Institute for Policy and Opinion Research at Roanoke College asked 711 likely voters who they plan to vote for in November. A head-to-head matchup between President Biden and former President Trump resulted in a tie, with each candidate getting 42-percent of the vote. Although, respondents were more likely to view the Trump administration as mostly good for the country at 44%, and they see the Biden administration more negatively with only 25% calling it mostly good and 47% saying it's mostly bad. Results show 87% of Republicans are very enthusiastic about the Trump years, while only 50% of Democrats think of Biden’s years as mostly good.
