Police in McLean are investigating a car break-in that led to the theft of ten-thousand dollars in cash. Investigators say the victim withdrew the cash from a bank in Springfield on March 21st. He stopped at a nearby shopping center and returned to find his car broken into and the money missing. Police believe the man was a victim of "bank jugging," a type of criminal activity that targets people who withdraw large sums of money from banks. Police have identified two men they believe were involved in the crime and are working to identify a woman who may have been involved.

Richmond Police are reminding residents there's a safe way to sell and buy online. The RPD wants people to know there are Safe Exchange Zones at two of its precincts. These are places where people who agree to an online transaction can meet safely to finalize their deals. There are cameras there recording 24/7. A detective says they have seen a spike in the last couple weeks of people getting robbed during these transactions. He also tells 12 On Your Side if someone isn't willing to meet you at one of these zones, that's probably a red flag.
