A woman is facing multiple charges in southwest Virginia after trying to escape arrest by ramming a state trooper's vehicle. Authorities began searching for 27-year-old Kati Villoch of Wytheville after she allegedly tried to break open a gun case at a Walmart store. State police located her vehicle early yesterday in Wytheville, but she rammed a trooper's vehicle and drove off. She was caught after crashing her car, but made another escape attempt after slipping out of her handcuffs. Villoch has been charged with attempted capital murder, destruction of property, felony hit and run and eluding police.

A lawsuit could disrupt plans to build a new baseball park in Richmond. Lawyer Paul Goldman has filed a lawsuit to stop the city's plan to pay for the Diamond District project. The city announced Wednesday it wants to issue 170-million dollars in bonds for the project, but Goldman says the burden of paying the debt service on the bonds will be solely on the city's taxpayers. He also tells 8News the deal will saddle the city with 280 million dollars in debt. Richmond Chief Administrative Officer Lincoln Saunders says the lawsuit is frivolous and flies in the face of the will of the residents.
