A woman killed in a crash in Richmond is being remembered as an inspiration of how we all should treat others, according to what's written on a GoFundMe page for Meredith Rose Norris. The 28-year-old died in a crash Monday. Norris' boss tells CBS 6, she was always there for those who were struggling, and she was the first to put her arm around their shoulder, give a hug or provide comfort. A public memorial for Norris is set for 7:00 tonight.
Danville City Council received updates on the agreement with Caesars for a casino, revealing an increased capital investment from $400 million to $750 million due to rising construction costs. The number of jobs promised by the casino dropped from 13 hundred to at least 9 hundred. The entertainment venue and conference center will be consolidated, and Caesars will donate Wood Avenue to the city. The city has received approximately $40 million dollars in revenue from the project and plans to allocate it based on the Investing in Danville Plan.
