The City Council in Portsmouth is moving forward with a plan to buy and renovate the former Hampton Roads Regional Jail.Preview: A new exhibit focusing on rest will open at the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture today. "Reclaiming My Time" uses objects from more than a dozen contemporary Black designers, with an emphasis on seating design. The exhibit focuses on the idea that rest and reflection are necessary to achieve resistance and resilience. The exhibit will be on display for the next year.
