An animal rescue organization in Afghanistan is sending dogs and cats to the United States in hopes of finding them permanent homes. Kabul Small Animal Rescue has raised over 800-thousand dollars to fly 300 animals to Dulles International Airport next week. Pender Pet Retreat will collect the dogs and cats so they can be examined by the USDA and the CDC and cleared for adoption. The animals are scheduled to land at Dulles on Monday.
