Virginia lawmakers are working with Governor Glenn Youngkin on a compromise budget ahead of next week's special session of the General Assembly. Lawmakers took the unprecedented step of throwing out the proposed state budget last month after Youngkin signaled he was open to further negotiation. Budget conferees met with the governor Tuesday in Richmond and said afterward that the talks went well. Youngkin was also optimistic but said more work is needed before the special session begins on Monday.

Bonds worth 170 million dollars will be issued to finance the design, acquisition, construction and equipping of the stadium in the Diamond District. Stoney says we're on track to deliver a game-changing development for the city. Groundbreaking is set for next month, and the stadium should be open for the 2026 Flying Squirrels season.
